Contacting the PPG Volunteer Team
Welcome to the Patient Participation Group (PPG) contact section. This area allows patients and members of the community to contact our volunteer team directly regarding questions, suggestions, feedback, or support-related matters.
Please note that all PPG email accounts are managed by volunteers and are not monitored continuously. While we aim to respond to all enquiries as promptly as possible, there may occasionally be delays in replying. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding during these times.
The PPG is operated entirely by volunteers who dedicate their own time to helping improve communication between the surgery and its patients. We are committed to maintaining a respectful, supportive, and professional environment for everyone involved.
Any abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or inappropriate behaviour towards volunteers will not be tolerated. To help protect our volunteers and maintain a safe environment, the following conduct policy will apply:

First Incident: A formal warning will be issued.

Second Incident: The individual’s email address may be blocked from contacting the PPG.

Third Incident: Full access to the website and related PPG services may be restricted, and the matter may be reported to the Unsworth Group and relevant parties where appropriate.
We sincerely hope that these measures will never need to be used. Our role is simply to act as a constructive link between the surgery and its patients, helping to support communication, engagement, and community involvement.
We therefore kindly ask all users to communicate respectfully and courteously with our volunteer team at all times.

As the website host and maintainer, I personally oversee the ongoing maintenance and updates of the website. If you identify an issue that requires attention or correction, please report it by email, and I will aim to resolve the matter as soon as possible.

Events, Newsletters, and Community Updates
If you would like to submit information regarding upcoming events, community activities, announcements, or details for inclusion within the PPG newsletter or website updates, please use our dedicated newsletter contact email.
This email account is managed separately by the PPG newsletter coordinator, who works hard to review messages and community submissions as regularly as possible. While responses may not always be immediate, all enquiries and submissions will be reviewed when available.

Joining the Patient Participation Group (PPG)
We are always pleased to welcome new members to the Patient Participation Group (PPG). If you are a registered patient of the Unsworth Group surgeries in Westhoughton or Blackrod and would like to become involved, we would be delighted to hear from you.
The PPG aims to help strengthen communication between patients and the surgery while encouraging community involvement and patient feedback. New members are always welcome, regardless of background or experience.
